We are currently seeking an experienced General Ledger Accountant with German
We are looking for a skilled and experienced General Ledger Accountant to join the finance team of our client — a prominent player in the food industry with a well-established presence across the EMEA region.
This role is dedicated to the German market, so a minimum B1 level of German is required. Additionally, knowledge of fixed assets management is essential. The ideal candidate will bring solid accounting experience, SAP proficiency, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities:

Ensure accurate and timely execution of tasks to support smooth and error-free month-end (MEC), quarter-end (QEC), and year-end closings for the assigned region

Apply advanced knowledge of accounting processes, systems, and tools in daily operations

Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and group policies

Take proactive actions to resolve accounting issues and discrepancies

Contribute to project activities supporting the development of the newly established BSC organization

Facilitate effective task transitions, knowledge transfer, and process documentation

Collaborate closely with business units, local entities, and headquarters to provide analysis for decision-making

Resolve complex queries and maintain strong business relationships with stakeholders

Actively participate in transition and process improvement projects
Requirements:

Fluent in English, German at minimum B1 level

University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in accounting and/or finance

Strong expertise in GL processes, with solid knowledge of accounting, finance, and controlling

Proficiency in SAP, preferably SAP S/4HANA (experience in SAP S/4HANA implementation is a strong asset)

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Experience in a Shared Services environment, including process transformation and project management

Familiarity with US GAAP, IFRS, and local accounting regulations

Experience in accounting or audit in an independent role

Process improvement mindset and automation skills

Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure and in a team

Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Knowledge of fixed assets management is essential.
